Permanent exhibition of the Olomouc Archdiocesan Museum will be closed from 7 March to 2nd June 2016. Reason for this is a reinstallation, which will be held occasion of the tenth anniversary of the opening of the museum. In the building will be open only Gallery in the ground floor with exhibition Olomouc Picture Gallery IV. We apologize for temporary limitation of the operation.
Olomouc Archdiocesan Museum in June will celebrate ten years since its opening. On this occasion we are preparing a comprehensive renewal of its permanent exhibition. „Ten-year operation verified the possibilities of presentation of ancient art in the historic rooms and its educational potential. Experiences we apply in the new exhibition. We will focus on larger thematic coherence of individual parts and increasing of the attractiveness of the installation,“ said the director of the Museum of Art in Olomouc Michal Soukup.
In the exhibition, which will be inaugurated on June 2, also appear unexposed exhibits. The new permanent exhibition will complement the new museum guide book. The museum will also extend the offer of educational aids. In addition to a childrens guide and a collection of epic self-sheets we prepare to create interactive zone in the exhibition.
Construction works and installation will require limitation of the operation for the public. From March 7 to June 2 will be the permanent exhibition closed. “However, we believe that the new concept of temporary restrictions on visitors to make up for,” added the director. In the Archdiocesan Museum will open the Gallery on the ground floor, where is the exhibition Olomouc Picture Gallery IV | European Painting of the 19th Century.
