Polish photographer Arkadiusz Gola (1972) is a fresh graduate of the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava. Since 1996 he works professionally in the newspaper (Dziennik Zachodni), has had a successful participation in many competitions (Pressfoto 2005 Newsreportaż, 2003 Ekologia in objektiwe, 2003). His documentary series from the environment of opencast mines in Upper Silesia originated over a relatively long period stretching from 2007 to 2009. Then he moved in small mine working collectives and purposefully sought in a male dominated environment female workers. Often enough inhumane conditions and working environment in which women spend a third of your daily active life time, he managed to record several portraits very convincingly.
