Trams Transport Company of Olomouc
In cooperation with the Museum of Art Olomouc, Olomouc City Transport Company and the Institute of Creative Photography (ITF), Silesian University in Opava was a photographic project that precedes and accompanies a retrospective exhibition of the famous documentary Jindrich Streit at the Museum of Modern Art.
Olomouc students from his studio to the ITF, but also Štreit himself from October 2006 to January 2007 documented the activity DPMO, the work of its employees, daily operation. Six Štreitových pupils recorded an interesting situation in trams, buses and at bus stops, but also in the hinterland transport company, a depot and rail vehicles in garages, offices and among auditors. The result is a unique photographic documentary not only on the actual activity of the transport company and its employees, but also on how urban public transport affects the lives of the inhabitants of Olomouc.
Specific is also a form of photo slide show. Roughly three dozen images that select representative DPMO, Jindrich Streit, authors and art historians from Olomouc Museum of Art, will be exhibited in “mobile gallery” – trams T3. It will be more than three months circling the city.
