Theater of Music

The Theater of Music awaits reconstruction and subsequent relocation to the former Central cinema. The current season 2018/2019, the jubilee fifty, is also his last. Together with theatrical as well as other operations in the form that the audience knows for decades, the long exhibition tradition will end in the gallery of the Theater of Music.

 

Those who started in the 1970s with exhibitions in the ToM were the curator Pavel Herynek and theater director Pavel Konečný. At the time of so-called normalization, the gallery became respected thanks to its exhibition plan, which attracted attention by quality, novelty and progressiveness. The artist, designer, jeweler, and later art teacher at the Department of Art of the Palacký University Pedagogical Faculty, Pavel Herynek, led the gallery of the Theater of Music in 1972-1988. It is no coincidence that the last exhibition belongs to him. Its serial number is 427 and offers a look back for the authors work from the years of his work in the Theater of Music. In a way, the whole era of Olomouc art culture symbolically closes. The exhibition will include retrospection of exhibitions that took place here under Herynkovs leadership.
